About

We are all aware that the virus is affecting the population worldwide, however, it is not just our physical health. People are living in uncertainty, losing their jobs, family and friends all while not being able to meet their support systems. Unsurprisingly for many, this invokes panic, anxiety and fear leading to a decline in mental wellbeing.

Mental wellbeing at this time is of utmost importance!

Create4Corona was born out of the desire to bring people together while doing something that benefits our mental wellbeing. Creativity is known to reduce anxiety, improve mood and increase brain function. Both connecting with others and giving are essential to our mental health. Let us build a community of creatives keen to share something special with the world during this time of stress!

100% of funds raised for The Mental Health Fund *

Create4Corona was originally established to raise funds for CrisisTextLine only, Some artists have not yet agreed to funds going to The Mental Health Funds and may go to CrisisTextLine Instead - this will be noted in the description.

We believe mental health matters. Talking about it is essential. Creating and giving benefits it.

I work for a non-profit that serves communities after disasters and mental health has been coming up a lot

Creativity

Many friends have been furloughed due to COVID and I have seen them turn to creating and sharing

Connecting

I am currently studying Health and Social Care, and learned how connecting with others  as well as creativity is good for our mental wellbeing

THE MENTAL HEALTH FUND

The Mental Health fund is a partnership between Crisis Text Line, Kids Help Phone, Shout and SpunOut.ie.

This fund aims to support the work of each organization as they grow to meet the increased demand of people in crisis.

Each of these organizations provides crisis intervention via text message, 24/7. If it's a crisis to you, it's a crisis to them. No judgements. No fees. No app to download.

These organizations recruit, train, and support volunteers who comfort texters struggling to cope with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, eating disorders, or other mental health challenges.

Since 2013, these 4 organizations have trained over 30,000 volunteers and exchanged over 150 million messages by text with people in crisis.

Due to COVID-19, in March these organizations have experienced a collective 40% increase in volume

CrisisTextLine collects a ton of data and as of April 14th, the most trending word, you might have guessed it:
